Conditional field
The conditional field allows you to set conditions under which defined content will or will not be included. Often, you can achieve the same results by creating different templates and associated policies however, the conditional field allows you to specify and control content variations within a single template.
For large organizations dealing with complex variations for signature content, this can be a great advantage since it allows you to minimize the number of templates and associated policies required and yet still specify highly detailed, conditional content. To help you gain an understanding of how the conditional field can be used, the three sample scenarios and detailed instructions are available:
-
Conditional field example 1 - shows a conditional field being used to apply different content for users within two given departments, and generic content for everyone else
-
Conditional field example 2 - shows a conditional field being used to apply different content (including an image) for users in France and Germany, and generic content for everyone else
-
Conditional field example 3 (Advanced) - shows advanced use of the conditional field being used to apply different content incorporating nested conditional fields (i.e. one conditional field within another conditional field)
